Volkl has reinvented the all mountain ski with the debut of the Tigershark series, and the 10 Footer is designed to dominate on hard snow, groomed runs.  The Power Switch innovation allows you to change the flex of the ski to match the conditions of the terrain.  Turn the switch at the tail to engage or disengage the carbon rods inside the ski, making the ski stiffer or softer.  Stiffer increases the ski’s power and rebound.  Softer makes the ski easier in crud, bumps and powder.  Finally, one ski can do it all.  NO WONDER SKI MAGAZINE AWARDED THE VOLKL TIGERSHARK GEAR OF THE YEAR.

The 10 Foot Tigershark is the tighter turning, quicker sibling to the wider 12 Footer.  Other than the narrower shape, and smaller sidecut radius, the 12 and 10 Foot Tigersharks are exactly the same.  Tigershark has all of Volkl’s best features and top of the line construction.  Very tight turning, with an all new, wider waist width, this ski can really crank out the turns.  Check out these features:

  • Power Switch Technology – Dual carbon fiber rods are encased in full length tubes hidden inside the ski.  Engaging the switch at the tail moves the rods forward against the springs at front end of the tuning tubes.  Since the carbon rods resist compression, the ski is stiffened, and rebound is increased.  Turn the Power Switch to the engaged position and ski a super powerful, high speed demon. Disengage the rods, and the ski has a much more mellow, relaxed feel, and is better in softer snow
  • Chrome top sheetNo other ski has the look and feel of the new Tigershark.  This hot rod looks fast even when it is sitting still.
  • Powered by Titanium - the 10 Foot PS has Volkl &acut; s best construction with Titanal above and below the core.  Titanal is a very light metal, and increases twisting stiffness and stability better than any other material.  The edge hold is just what you would expect from Volkl – SUPERIOR.
  • Extended Sensor wood core - Volkl uses only Poppel wood, and mills every core into the cambered ski shape.  Poppel wood skis like nothing else.  Very smooth, quiet, and with lots of rebound.
  • Double Grip upper Core – Another Volkl exclusive, the Double Grip wood core modules extend above both edges and are laminated on top of the primary core. Increases torsional stiffness for better edge hold, and also increases rebound from turn to turn.
  • Dimension 3 Sidecut – The shape of the ski is designed so that the maximum amount of the edge is in contact with the snow when the ski is flexed into the turn. Because there is more edge in contact with the snow, turns are very easy to initiate, and edge hold is improved.
  • Internal Power Transmission binding system – the iPT system is integrated into the core of the ski, and the Motion bindings actually slide into, and sits on top of the Double Grip Core.  The binding is fully anchored into the ski structure, and mounts to the ski with no holes to drill. The toe and heel can glide in the Motion rails as the ski flexes, allowing a tighter arc, and quicker response.

The Marker 12.0 Piston Control binding included with this ski is a fantastic piece of engineering.  The boot and binding are linked together, acting as one. The Volkl-Marker partnership is showcased here, with the ski and binding designed together as a single system.  Check out the features of this binding:

  • Piston Control Oil Suspension - the hydraulic piston is mounted to an arm that extends in front of the toe piece.  Vibration is filtered as it travels through the ski, keeping the edge in contact with the snow.  The ride is smoother, and edge hold is better.
  • Marker Biometric toe – Offers release in any direction, and the metal frame links the boot to the toe very tightly.  Upward release is adjusted with the DIN setting of the heel.  The higher the DIN, the more force necessary to release vertically.
  • Marker Twin Cam heel – This sophisticated heel design offers the lightest step in force of any binding on the market, and can even be closed very easily by hand when in deep snow or on steep terrain where it is difficult to step down with very much force
  • Marker Gliding AFD – The toe rest under the boot moves with the boot as the binding absorbs shock or releases. Friction between the boot and binding is minimized, and safety is less compromised by boot sole wear or contamination.
  • DIN range is 4 to 12 - which will fit virtually any adult skier.
